LOST VAMPIRES PRESENTS: THE WISDOM OF CROCODILES (1998)

Stylish modern-day vampire thriller is in parts horror, romantic melodrama and police procedural. Medical researcher Steven Grlscz (Jude Law) is driven to seek out and consume a woman’s affections before his need for blood inevitably leads to their deaths. Two detectives (Timothy Spall and Jack Davenport) are investigating the unsolved murder of Steven’s former girlfriend when he meets and is enraptured by Anne (Elina Löwensohn) and tries to break the pattern. With a screenplay by Paul Hoffman, based on his novel of the same name, this unusual, moody vampire film explores the nature of love and lust, ritual and religion, good and evil, life and death.

Unfairly dismissed upon its original release and retitled to Immortality for its US distribution, this unique film has been out of circulation in the UK for over twenty years. Theatrical screening rights remaining unavailable, Lost Vampires is proud to present this fascinating genre hybrid as a special high-definition video presentation at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden.
