Lucille and Cecilia: The Sea Lion Show (Edinburgh preview)

Bang Average Theatre presents Lucille and Cecilia; a comedic play about two performing sea lions trapped in the circus.  The story is narrated by the sea lions themselves, firstly in their native tongue – arf – but once they discover the art of human language, suddenly their lives become a lot more complex. Laurel and Hardy meets Creature Comforts as this pair of idiots go on a journey that leads them into dark, dark danger. Expect light hearted slapstick, silly arfing and surreal humour throughout!

Bang Average Theatre is a brand-new company formed earlier this year by Chloe Darke and Susannah Scott, whose aim is to make innovative, playful work. This piece has been devised in collaboration with director Steve Brownlie and is being produced by Sophie Peacock, whose most recent credits include Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs and The Little Drummer Girl , an Ink Factory/AMC adaptation of the John le Carré book. Chloe and Susannah have been developing their work as part of the Soho Young Theatre Company and they will be taking Lucille and Cecilia to the Edinburgh Fringe in August this year.
