CANCELLED Edinburgh Previews: Carl Donnelly & Kieran Boyd

From the management agency that brought you acts such as Frank Skinner, Russell Howard and Al Murray, Avalon Promotions presents a run of Edinburgh Previews from some of the hottest talent heading to the Edinburgh Fringe this year. Each night will feature two acts trying out some brand new ideas before taking their shows up to the festival in August.

Carl Donnelly

Carl started performing stand-up in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young comedians. His conversational, silly sense of humour has seen him win a host of awards (Chortle Best Club Comedian 2017; Chortle Best Newcomer 2007; Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2007; among others) and become a regular at all of the finest comedy clubs in the UK and Ireland. In 2009, Carl performed his debut solo show Relax Everyone, it’s Carl Donnelly! at the Edinburgh Fringe for which he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. Also nominated for the Fosters Comedy Award in 2013, Carl has since returned to Edinburgh with six further solo shows, his latest being the very well-reviewed The Nutter on the Bus in 2017. Carl has also appeared on various TV shows including Mock The Week and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Kieran Boyd

Semi-finalist in So You Think You’re Funny? (2009), Amused Moose Laugh-Off (2010), and part of Fringe favourites WitTank. In 2016 Kieran took his debut solo show Egg up to the fringe to great acclaim, followed by the 2017 hit, Sitzpinkler. With acclaimed sketch trio WitTank, Kieran has enjoyed nine years of sold-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as numerous gigs and comedy festivals in the UK and Ireland. In 2011 they received a Best Show Nomination at the Leicester Comedy Festival, and appeared on 3 series of the acclaimed BBC3’s comedy show, Live At the Electric.
