PAUL RICHARDS: GETTING LOST IN MY HOMETOWN

With ten Edinburgh Fringe productions and three full UK tours under hiswing, Cambridge-based playwright/performer Paul Richards returns with his new show, Getting Lost In My Hometown. A solo storytelling comedy show; this excitable hour finds 32-year-old Paul moving back to his hometown only to feel troubled...troubled by the fact that everyone is suddenly married with offspring on the way, troubled by the fact that his family (even the dog) are suddenly old, troubled by a text message from a drunken nightbefore. Throughout his long walk back to his new house, Paul raises that important question: at what point does an awkward young man just become an ’awkward man’? Getting Lost In My Hometown is a chirpy 60 minutes, unexpectedly heart-warming, complete with the shortest pub quiz in the world and a dreadful romantic ballad.

"Sweet, grounded and self-deprecating, this show is for all those who, even out of their twenties, are a little shy and unsure of themselves. Paul delivers his stories with a genuine honesty that is immediately endearing."- HECKLER magazine on Paul’s 2013 show, Some Plays By Paul Richards.

"Armed with a charming and highly watchable delivery style, he connects many different strands of life experiences, characters and narratives to create funny, profound and genuinely likable comedy." - END OF NEIL on Paul’s 2013 solo show, Things Could Be Marvellous.
