Psycho-geography: An Exercise to Remember My Future

Psycho-geography: An Exercise to Remember My Future

“Medellin, 1990’s: The most violent city of the world and the city of my childhood. Immediate post 9/11 United States: The country where my family immigrated and where I thought a new homeland was possible until the day I had to pack the 25 pound bag for my mom’s deportation”. This play is a voyage through the theatres of Diana’s memory when as an immigrant for the second time –this time in Europe- and adult for the first time, ‘volviendo’ (coming back) has become an impossibility and yet her only present continuous. By playing a wide range of characters, she explores the perception of violence when it becomes an everyday casualty and comes to terms with her personal and family stories in the midst of an ongoing history of war.
